Fireworks Testing
HD Fireworks Silt Fence Test
When tight venues offer a small footprint for shooting a fireworks display we will take additional precautions to ensure spectators are safe if a multi-shot “cake” blows out and continues to fire (shooting horizontally). In the past we would erect plywood using angle brackets and screws to enclose a cluster of 1.4G cakes. However, this is cumbersome so we began experimenting with alternatives that would be more manageable to transport and work with.
Silt Fence is a tightly woven fabric similar to the geotextile fabric blasting contractors use to confine flying debris when blasting concrete. This is pretty tough stuff and for that reason we decided to shoot it with a Dahlias and Bouquets 500 gram 1.4G cake. This item begins with shooting 5 mines and ends with 15 aerial shells. We felt if anything would penetrate the geotex fabric it would more then likely be the mines. Mines are stars that are ignited right out of the tubes.
